Black and White Weekend

As you may have heard, we’re participating in the #87daysofvintage challenge. This means we’ve been going through our closets and either cleaning out pieces that no longer suit us or rediscovering old pieces we love.

This faux leather skirt from H&M was one of those buried gems, and we decided to rework it for the current season. Although leather isn’t typically a material that’s worn in the summer, we ended up pairing the skirt with a sporty bikini top, the Crop from Bikyni. After all, you never know when that swimsuit is going to come in handy — whether for a spontaneous dip in the pool or for an unplanned sun shower.

Finally, to finish up the look, we added a touch of brass hardware with rings from Melting Sun Apparel. Melting Sun Apparel is a local Atlanta jewelry maker; we love her minimalist and bohemian products.

How often do you clean out items your closet? Have you rediscovered pieces you’d completely forgotten about and found new ways to work them?
